- Call to order
All Task Force members and guests will be recognized and the April 16, 2003 meeting
notes will be offered for the committees approval (see meeting highlights).
- Freight Planning For Columbus, Ohio
Erika Witzke and a visiting team from the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission
(MORPC) will highlight the freight planning efforts of the Columbus, Ohio MPO.
- Domestic Intermodal Growth: Intermodal Trailers vs. Domestic Containers
Eric Moffett of the Vermont Railway will give an overview of the domestic intermodal
market, and discuss emerging trends and consequences for the Pennsylvania market.
- Planning for Freight at MARAD
Richard Walker, Director of the Office of Intermodal Development, will review
MARADs freight programs and provide an update on TEA-21 reauthorization.
- United States Coast Guard Initiatives in the Delaware Valley
The Captain of the Port of Philadelphia, Jonathan Sarubbi, will provide an overview of
the new role of the Coast Guard in the Department of Homeland Security.
- Two-minute Reports
Task Force and Subcommittee chairs and Task Force members and guests will
provide updates on the activities of their companies and agencies.
- Old and New Business
Old and new items of business will be considered. The next scheduled meeting of the
Goods Movement Task Force is October 8, 2003.
