Oct 2, 2014  TRB  Maintenance and Operations Resilience: Improving System Management and Performance During Adverse and Extreme Weather Events  - TRB will conduct a webinar on October 2, 2014, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm ET that will examine transportation agencies’ performance metrics, data, and sources, as well as the systems and tools for performance evaluation in maintenance and operations for resilience in adverse weather events. Webinar presenters will discuss rationales for selecting options, such as cost, anticipated reduction in damage, and other negative impacts.  Webinar   
Sep 29, 2014  TRB  Analytical Travel Forecasting Approaches for Project Level Planning and Design  - TRB will conduct a webinar on September 29, 2014, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm ET that will cover highlights from NCHRP Report 765: Analytical Travel Forecasting Approaches for Project-Level Planning and Design. This report describes methods, data sources, and procedures for producing travel forecasts for highway project-level analyses. The report is intended to be used by transportation planning, operations, and project development staff to better support planning, design, and operations recommendations.  Webinar   
Sep 25, 2014    TMIP Webinar: Emerging Technologies in Travel Surveys  - This webinar will consist of four presentations covering emerging technologies in travel surveys. Ed Hard (TTI) will present on the collection of external survey data using Bluetooth and a community web survey. Leta Huntsinger and Kyle Ward (Parsons Brinckerhoff) will have a presentation on using mobile phone data to develop an external trip model. Mia Zmud's (Metropia) presentation will cover mobility management and data analytics using Metropia Mobile. The last presentation by Joan Walker and Andre Carrel (University of California at Berkeley) will cover two large studies that used applications of mobile technology to study transit rider behavior and sustainable travel.

Sep 23, 2014    Climate Change, Extreme Weather Events and the Highway System  - TRB will conduct a webinar on September 23, 2014, from 2:00pm to 3:30pm ET that will cover the practitioners' guide portion of NCHRP Report 750: Strategic Issues Facing Transportation, Volume 2: Climate Change, Extreme Weather Events, and the Highway System: Practitioner’s Guide and Research Report. Participants must register in advance of the webinar, and there is a fee for non-TRB Sponsor or non-TRB Sustaining Affiliate employees. Jun 22 - 24, 2015  TRB  5th International Symposium on Highway Geometric Design  - TRB is cosponsoring the 5th International Symposium on Highway Geometric Design on June 22-24, 2015, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The objective of this symposium is to stimulate continued world-wide improvements to highway geometric design. The symposium will focus on the latest research, policies, and innovative practices related to highway geometric design and their safety and operational effects.  Event   
Jan 29 - 31, 2015    14th Annual New Partners for Smart Growth Conference  - The schedule for this event includes a dynamic mix of plenaries, breakouts, implementation workshops, focused training sessions, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, and coordinated networking activities. It will also feature exciting tours of local model projects in and around the greater Baltimore region. There will be something for everybody, from veteran experts to smart-growth novices, with close to 80 sessions and workshops to choose from. Learn from hundreds of speakers who cross disciplines to share insights, valuable tools and strategies for making smart growth a success in your community. Dec 3 - 5, 2014  NADO  National Rural Transportation Conference  - This annual event provides peer-to-peer learning for regional transportation planners, State DOT representatives, and their partners. The conference will provide training and networking opportunities on a variety of rural and small metropolitan transportation topics. With hands-on workshops, best practice panels, and facilitated networking sessions that feature peer trainers and expert speakers, the conference will offer training for organizations and individuals just beginning to work in transportation, as well as those with more experience.
