Jun 27, 2018    TMIP Webinar: WMATA SafeTrack Surges – Impact on The Regional Transportation System  - Does re-investment in the public transit system have benefits for transportation system reliability and congestion? To determine this, Office of Planning undertook an evaluation of the WMATA SafeTrack system shutdowns by comparing 2015 transportation system riders, volumes, and travel times and compared them with similar dates during the 2016 WMATA SafeTrack shutdowns. Based upon the analysis of actual changes in travel mode use, travel times, transit ridership, pedestrian and bike use, and auto counts, there were impacts to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area transportation system reliability and congestion.  Webinar   
Jul 2, 2018  TRB  TRB Webinar: TFResource: The Information Tool for Transportation Planners and Modelers  - This webinar will discuss the Travel Forecasting Resource (TFResource). Travel demand forecasts are an integral part of the transportation planning process, used to study policy, planning, and investment decisions at several levels of government. Developed by TRB and the Federal Highway Administration, TFResource is an online portal where practitioners can find and contribute to curated summaries of the latest and most significant forecasting concepts and practices. This webinar will describe the way practitioners and researchers may engage with the portal. The panelists will also provide an overview of the portals’ content areas within TFResource with a focus on the recently added content on modeling autonomous vehicles.

Jul 11, 2018  FTA  TAM Webinar Series: TAM Plans for Small and Medium Providers  - The webinar from FTA starting at 2-3pm EST will review how two small/medium agencies coordinate new and existing agency efforts to work towards a completed TAM Plan. The webinar will feature presentations from Andrew Choi (Maintenance Operations Planner) from Long Beach Transit (LBT) and Frank Knorek (Compliance Analyst) from Luzerne County Transportation Authority (LCTA). Andrew will focus on LBT’s development of a tool for completing condition assessments, and Frank will discuss LCTA’s coordination of existing agency efforts, including maintenance and capital planning, to support TAM planning processes.  Webinar   
Jul 31, 2018    Webinar: Drone Use at Alabama DOT  - This webinar series continues to highlight innovations in geospatial technologies and best practices among GIS professionals in US State Departments of Transportation. This presentation will discuss the use of drones at the Alabama Department of Transportation.

Jul 31 - Aug 1, 2018  TRB  TRB Committe on Transportation and Air Quality 2018 Summer Meeting  - The Transportation Research Board (TRB) Committee on Air Quality (ADC20) Summer Meeting will take place July 31-August 1, at the National Academies Keck Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Chris Frey of North Carolina State University will present a keynote talk on his recent landmark assessment of issues facing the transportation air quality field, Trends in On road Transportation Energy and Emissions. Additional talks on key topics, such as freight, exposure assessment, and innovations in data analysis will complement the committee meeting, with an eye toward strategic opportunities and direction for the committee?s future research. See the meeting flyer with a preliminary agenda and additional information. The summer meeting is open to all TRB Air Quality Committee members and friends, students, and others in the field. Registration is free and all participants were asked to RSVP by June 15, 2018; however, late registrations will be accepted until mid-July.  Event  Washington, D.C.
