Summary

This report summarizes noteworthy practices and discussions during a TPCB peer exchange sponsored by FHWA and FTA and hosted by the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC) in Portage, Indiana, on June 11-12, 2019. The peer exchange focused on how NIRPC and two peer agencies, MetroPlan Orlando (Orlando, Florida) and the Wilmington Area Planning Council (Newark, DE), develop and update Public Participation Plans (PPPs) and involve the public and other stakeholders in metropolitan planning organization activities. Over the course of the 1.5-day peer exchange, participants shared information on PPP and public participation activities and techniques.
