Summary

This report highlights the experiences, successes, challenges, and lessons learned identified during a TPCB peer exchange sponsored by FHWA and hosted by the Frontier Metropolitan Planning Organization in Fort Smith, AR on May 1-2, 2019. The peer exchange focused on tribal consultation and bicycle and pedestrian planning, with an emphasis on how small metropolitan planning organizations with limited staff and financial resources can leverage opportunities to enhance tribal consultation and bicycle and pedestrian planning. Peer agencies participating in the exchange included the Santa Fe Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Thurston Regional Planning Council, and the Indian Nations Council of Governments.
